About the Role:
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of workstations used for technical design (CAD/CAE/CAM), ensuring high performance, stability, security, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Workstation Management
•Installation, configuration, and updating of hardware and software. Definition of the golden image and related build and versioning procedures.
•Performance optimization.
•Support in troubleshooting technical issues related to CAD/CAE/CAM software (e.g., CATIA, Creo). Application-specific expertise remains under the responsibility of another service; the role here is to assist when issues are potentially related to software/system interaction (hardware + base software stack).
•Creation and maintenance of operational documentation (e.g., runbooks and SOPs).
Software Administration
•Support for the installation and maintenance of CAD/CAE/CAM suites and related plugins. Again, this concerns system-side support, excluding purely application-specific aspects.
•Validation of patches, service packs, and updates, including drivers and libraries.
User Support
•Second-level support for designers and technical teams. First-level support is handled by the helpdesk.
•Analysis and resolution of performance, compatibility, or stability issues.
•Preparation of guidelines and best practices for the use of CAD workstations.
Performance and Infrastructure Management
•Monitoring workstation performance.
•Tuning activities (e.g., driver settings, cache, paging, power profiles) and periodic execution of standard and custom benchmarks.
•Evaluation of new hardware components and support in defining specifications for new purchases.
•Collaboration with engineering teams to ensure an efficient and standardized CAD environment.
Security and Backup
•Application of security policies and protection of technical data.
•Support for compliance with internal and external regulations (e.g., cybersecurity requirements).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s of IT or Computer Science
• 10–15 years of hands-on experience in ODC setup.
• Expert proficiency in handling tools like CATIA V5 / UGNX, electrical tools
• Strong knowledge of Security, System admin, networking, VDI and cloud.
• Good knowledge in network architecture, hardware provisioning, virtualization, etc.
• Patch management and asset tracking
• Incident management, maintaining uptime, etc.
• Italian language is must
